What to pack when you travel!

It can be challenging to figure out what to pack when you are traveling for a week, month, or a year abroad without prior experience of the place you plan to visit. Here are a few things you can need to travel just about anywhere in the world.

What Clothes to Bring

If you are traveling to places where clothing is cheap, such as Southeast Asia, you don’t need to carry a complete wardrobe. In places like Europe, where clothing might not be cheap, bring everything you think you’ll need.

For hot climates, carry

·         A few thin tank tops that you can mix and match with different bottoms
·         A few pairs of shorts of different lengths
·         One or two skirts or dresses
·         2–3 pairs of light cotton bottoms
·         Several pairs of comfortable underwear
·         A few pairs of thin socks
·         A pair of hiking or running shoes and a pair of flip-flops or sandals
·         A hat to shield your face

For temperate climates, carry

·         A few tank tops and a few long-sleeved shirts for layering
·         2–3 t-shirts
·         2–3 tunic shirts or dresses
·         A pair of jeans or thick pants
·         A few pairs of shorts of different lengths
·         Several pairs of comfortable underwear
·         A few pairs of socks
·         A pair of boots or closed-toed shoes
·         A pair of hiking or running shoes
·         A pair of flip-flops or sandals
·         A waterproof jacket

For cold climates, carry

·         A few long-sleeved shirts for layering
·         2 thermal shirts
·         A few sweaters and/or sweater dresses
·         A pair of jeans or thick pants
·         A few pairs of leggings for layering
·         Several pairs of comfortable underwear and thick socks
·         A pair of snow boots
·         A heavy coat
·         A pair of gloves
·         A scarf
·         A beanie or winter hat

What Toiletries to Bring

Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and soap are the obvious ones. A basic toiletry travel kit list should include:

·         A hanging toiletry bag for easy use
·         Travel-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body and face wash, sunscreen
·         moisturizer
·         Venus razor refills
